That sounds like a magical moment and it's certainly a wonderful photo. Reading your post, I thought back on the similar transformative moments I've had in my life, and I was mildly surprised to realise they were all to do with water (crossing rivers, sailing solo, surfing etc.) This might not be a surprise if you've read my blog lately, but when I was younger, it was by no means obvious that this was how things would turn out, and I probably identified more with mountains and hills than I did with the sea. It seems at some point, I choose a particular path without realising it and ended up with the watery world.
