Writing report of the day: I'm writing and not reporting much because that generally works out better for me.

I've been smushing together chapters and rearranging so much that I was in jeopardy of posting a chapter to the workshop that hadn't been vetted by my local betas yet.

Meh.

I think I may have succumbed to "plotting by stupidity," my least favorite plot device in the whole wide world. I'm not sure, but it stinks that way when the wind's just right. But I'm not going to change it in this draft. That'll have to wait for the rewrites like everything else.

I've reached the part of the ms. where the villains are standing round twirling their mustaches and laughing evilly and telling why they've hatched their dastardly plans and how they did it and how very, very screwed the hero is. Snidely Whiplash ain't got nothing on these guys.

It may not be as bad as I fear--but I'm moving on regardless.
