Understand that I now make my own, from berries picked at a local blueberry farm or from figs in our yard or our neighbor's yard. Up until I moved to the Carolinas, you'd be lucky to get me to eat jam at all.
My *other* is that I eat a spoonful in a plain yoghurt or a serving of fromage blanc. So tasty. i have also been known to use jam on the bottom of tarts, in cake recipes, and even in smoothies, so yeah, not just with bready products. :D
Oh yeah, making it yourself makes a big difference. We make jam from the peach tree every year and usually cherry from the local farmer's market. Just delish!
