Horrifying

You know, there’s a lot to be said for growing old gracefully. There’s also a lot to be said about people looking like people, not some over-idealized ancient supermodel. However, I’m not going to say it. Talk amongst yourselves.

::shudder:: Some of those photos are terrifying!

Seriously!

I don't know what to say about those pictures. Just...wow. Freaky is not my idea of beautiful.

Exactly. I look at Jamie Lee Curtis who is letting herself age and I look at these women...Jamie Lee is so much more beautiful.

O.M.G. Horrifying doesn't even begin to cover it. O_o

I know!

Yeah, I'll take my wrinkles and my blubber every day over that. Sometimes when I look at all the celebrity photos, it's almost a relief to see someone who is just a natural beauty, with all those small flaws that makes them even more beautiful.

I feel the same.

I've always tried to look 10 years younger than my actual age. When I'm 70, hopefully I will still look 60. Nut there is only so much you can do before things devolve into parody.

Yes, and sometimes it's difficult to know when one has crossed that line. It's so easy to deceive oneself.

Egads. That's just insane. I really don't get how these women think they look BETTER. Yikes.

The power of self-deception. And the limited field of vision the mirror gives.

Oh, that makes me feel so much better about the passport pictures I've just taken; my face (and shoulders) may be lopsided, my eyes baggy and my mouth tending to a tilted smirk when I'm trying to smile mildly (I'm not at all unhappy with my face, really; it's just that with the way stuff moves, it's difficult to photograph well), but at least I don't look like that!

*shudder*

Yes, I think we can all be grateful for not traveling that path!
