Sweet murmuration

Once past the goofy photos, this is awesome.

Ah! I've seen this! It's amazing. Arial ballet.

As a sister to my mother's pet starling, I find myself wondering if she soars like this in her dreams. She gets to fly around the house, but of course not like that.

Yes, I've seen this too--it is just breathtaking. And maybe your mother's starling does dream of soaring in a living cloud of her peers.

I hope she doesn't feel left out. She doesn't really know she's a starling, I don't think. One time we briefly brought another nestling into the house because someone had found it and didn't want to take care of it. We wound up taking it to the Wildlife Rescue Station up in Malibu (because caring for them is quite time consuming and Baby was enough, thank you). But the whole time that bird was in the house (maybe an hour or two), Baby was SO upset. Difficult to say what that behavior was about.

I had to watch the film again. It makes *me* miss the murmuration, and I've never flown in all my waking days. But dreaming is something. I think Baby must be happy with you guys.

I think she is, too. Except on the days when we don't let her out of the cage because contractors, et al., are coming. On those days, she pouts.

And I miss the murmuration, too. :-)

That was pretty amazing. Were those swallows or starlings?

Starlings.
