How unsuperbowled I am

Last week when I saw a headline on a magazine reading, The Road to XL I thought to myself, "What is that? An article about the different ways people gain weight?"

I still can't see the news about the game without thinking "Extra Large."

Which, in a way, XL is.

I'm so used to ignoring sports stuff I would never have known what that was. But then I wouldn't have known there was a sporting event today except when I turned on the weather channel the morning in wan hopes of the dry spell ever ending (no relief in sight) they were blathering on and on about it.

I ignored it successfully for years, but then the next day everyone would be talking about the damned commercials, so I started leaving it on in the background and only paying attention to the commercials. How's that for goofy?

My spouse watches the commercials--he teaches social ethics, and he gets a lot of current trend type thought from those things.

I watch TV so seldom that the commercials are all new when I do watch, and thus a re-entry into current contemporary modes.
