Okay, I'll get the whine portion of this post out of the way first: I managed only one day at work this week (Weds.) and I've used up all my sick leave for the year--and it isn't even September yet. This is not good, but what the hell. I had a relapse Weds. night and coughed rather than slept, then Thursday felt like pond scum, but I'm feeling better today. More human, less biomass. Because of the cold I haven't written anything new for over a week, but I did manage to post a new chapter to OWW (Weds), fwiw. /whine

My friend called today to tell me that they got the passes for us to go to the Magic Castle for my birthday. Yay! This is a members-only magicians club, loads o' fun.

But I forgot that I have to wear nice duds. We dress so casually at work that I no longer have any nice duds. So I got online and did just that. Shopping while on sick leave. I love the internet. It was more than I wanted to spend, but I've been looking for an excuse to buy something nice for awhile now. A nice black blazer and pants set, a smashing jade green fancy-girlie blouse--which I can use again if I ever decide I need to look professional.

Spending on plastic isn't real money, is it?
