I think my 87-year-old mother said it best:

"No matter what happens, I'm glad I lived long enough to be part of this. It's an historic election, and I'm proud to be here."

I sent something to that regard out to my family... my Mom and Aunt were the only ones to respond. I'm not sure the siblings gave too much thought to the moment this really is.

Yeah, and I wonder where that lack of perspective comes from. I honestly don't know. It can't all be "nothing that happened before I was born matters."

But whatever, it's an amazing moment.
