When I was over in Moscow in '94, the joke that made the rounds of the ex-pat community was, Have you heard about the four Russian food groups? Cholesterol, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine.
The other one I remember, by the way, was, Have you heard that they have two sections in Russian restaurants? Smoking, and chain-smoking.
