Our black cat, Max, went missing over two months ago. I fear the worst. I hope he had a good life up until then. He did have an interesting one, though, I think. He got to live overseas, in Paris, and the French countryside.

I've had a couple of black kitties. My cat Wizard was an amazing guy: friendly to all, even other cats. He was missing for a couple of weeks once, and I thought we'd lost him forever, but he came home to us.

Our black cat, Ku, is a sweet girl. She's got medium-long fur, tufted ears, and the most amazing yowl, which we hear any time the other cats pester her. She is the sole survivor of a litter of kittens born to a feral cat, the remainder of the kittens having been killed by coyotes. We like to imagine that even as a kitten her fierceness was enough to make the coyotes leave her alone.

Min has a will of iron and those of us who live with her obey her will. She dislikes other cats intensely and as long as there is the safety of a screen door between her and them, she is a fierce growler and hisser. And she's completely afraid of anyone but "her people," preferring to hide under the chair/bed whenever company comes. But I love her dearly. :-)
