Mom's stroke was worse than they at first thought, so she's still in the hospital. But the good news still holds: she's herself, communicating without difficulty, no paralysis, etc. She's still only showing signs of having the visual impairment in her left field of vision and peripheral vision. I've been going to the hospital several times a day to help her with her dialysis, so we'd both like to get her home. Her because she's sick of the hospital, me because I'm exhausted. But they have to be sure she's on the mend before she comes home.

Thanks so much for all your well wishes. I appreciate it a great deal.

So sorry to hear it wasn't as mild as you first thought. They will probably keep her for a while yet to see exactly what was affected and also to make sure her meds are correct to prevent another one.

You need to get as much rest as you possible can between visits. Try to treat yourself to something nice just to reduce the stress a few levels.
