Mom’s doing better

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes.  Mom made it through the procedure fine and we were home from the hospital by one p.m. (after getting there at Oh-Godawful a.m.).  She experienced quite a bit of discomfort yesterday and this morning, but we had good drugs to mitigate the worst of it.  She’s feeling better this afternoon, resuming her game of solitaire on the Kindle. 

The Kindle doesn’t seem to respond to her touch as readily as it does to mine.  I checked to make sure she’s not using the fingernail or missing the icon.  I have no idea what could be going on.

But that’s a preferable problem to having Mom feel like ****.

As for the Kindle, have you checked to see if her fingertips are drier than yours?

They're drier and she has a tendency try to use her fingernail. We had another "training" session this afternoon and she's doing better.

As for the kindle, I was thinking the same as darkspires, dry fingertips? Maybe a good hand cream will help?

The skin of her fingers is dry and therefore less conductive, have her lick her finger a little, not so much that it's slobbery, just enough to rehydrate the outer layer.

Does it respond to the warmth in your fingers? I have no idea how it works. Maybe her hands are a bit cold???

They are a bit colder. I think we'll trying moistening them.

She has good days and bad days, but I think overall we're headed in the right direction.
