“Oh, Min, you’re the cutest cat in the world.”

I believe this, so this is not a lie.

“Oh, Minnie Baby, you’re the cutest cat that’s ever lived.”

This is only a half lie. Every cat I’ve had has been the cutest cat that ever lived, so this may be a paradox, but only a half lie.

“Oh, sweetums, you’re the most beautiful cat in the world.”

Well, yeah, okay. Mother love and all that.

“Oh, baby love, you’re the smartest cat that’s ever lived.”

I have had a number of cats, some of them incredibly stupid (I loved them anyway), some of them smart, so I have a good basis for comparison. Min is one of the smartest cats I’ve had, so there is that. But that’s ever lived? I have no definitive, verifiable proof of that. There may be some mother love involved in this estimate.

“Oh, poobums, you’re the best cat in the world.”

Again, I believe this, so no lying is involved.

Who cares how much truth there is in it? Cats don't!

No! Min agrees with each and every one of those statements.

Min looks quite like my own Jack, who is gorgeous and grumpy (and of indeterminate intelligence). He' very large, though.

That's me, with him. I am not tiny.

He's a big boy! Min is a teeny cat with a stealth white belly. You never see it unless she decides to flash it. (See icon for this comment.)

She is gorgeous! She reminds me of our first cat. He arrived, airborne, in a grocery bag flung over our backyard fence and was a tiny six week old kitten. I hand-reared that boy and he grew to an enormous size. Course, it might have helped that he was an enthusiastic hunter and used to bring back bunnies to eat on my grass. I have never worked out how he managed to get a whole bunny in his stomach, but he did. All that was left was the gall bladder and the fluffy ears, nothing else.

What a guy! Min is a tiny girl and she came to us mysteriously when she was about five years old (by the vet's estimate). She had clearly been an indoor-only cat because after we brought her in she never fussed to get back out again. She's quite the little princess.

:)

I often wonder why we don't speak to each other the way we speak to our pets. There is so much love there.

Because we have no fear of being laughed at or eye-rolled or judged or made vulnerable. They just eat it all up and give it right back. :-D
