If you get any funny email from me from me, delete it immediately. I never use “hi” as a subject line and am not forwarding job information.

Oh heck. Both of them? I am so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine what sort of person gets their jollies from doing this. I know how it feels, having lost my capricorn account to such behavior.

It's disturbing and infuriating.

If it's any consolation, it was a professional job. Referral to a hacked website from a machine in Mexico that had been infected with a spambot. Yahoo was probably the way in (I've seen a few incidents of these lately). Be careful about using passwords when you're in http:// instead of https:// -- which may be happening without your knowledge if you're using a yahoo gizmo like a toolbar or something like that.

Oy. To the best of my knowledge, I've only logged into Yahoo through the yahoo page itself. I mean, I used to read it from my smartphone but stopped that a couple of months back. I will definitely keep a heads up on the URL config. Thanks for that!

I was just about to tell you about it, 'cause I did receive one, but obviously you already know.

Yeah, I knew those couldn't be from you. Actually just came here to give you a heads up, but I can see you know it already.

And ugh, what a pain in the butt it is for you. :(

Thanks! And it is. My head is swimming with new (complex!) passwords. What's frustrating is that they were already complex.

I got the email and opened it before I deleted it. I realized once I opened it that it wasn't you -_-

So sorry about your being hacked--how did you find out?

A friend called me from the east coast to tell me she'd received the mail which also got sent to a mailing list we're on. You might want to change your password if you opened that thing. I didn't click on anything. I don't think. It's becoming a blur...
