I don't do conventional metrcis—i.e., having to do with my writing progress—but I used to do a "metric" of random events that happened in my life. I've gotten out of the habit, but since I never seem to have time to do a proper post anymore, I'm going to reinstate it. At least every now and then.
Interesting sight of the day: Remember Lucky Vanous? Seriously? Lucky?
I shared a waiting room at the doctor's office with him yesterday. A head turner, even fully clothed. Humina humina.
Books I'm currently reading and will admit to in public of the day:
The Passion of Mary Magdalen by Elizabeth Cunningham
The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene
Spook by Mary Roach
Territory by Emma Bull
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tarot by Arlene Tognetti and Lisa Lenard
Note: These are the books I'm currently actively reading. I've always got a number on the boil at any given time.
Books I've just finished reading and will admit to in public of the day: The Harlequin by Laurell K. Hamilton
You know I've got no pride if I'll admit reading this in public. This one had more plot and less sex than some of her more recent Anita Blakes. But still the same unfortunate tendency towards page after page of argument between her characters right in the middle of "action" scenes. Also, a lot of this sort of thing:
"You're going with him?" He made it a question.
"Hence the goddamned question mark" I found myself writing in the margin time and again.
On a positive note, I also just finished Chill Factor by Rachel Caine. Boy, do I love those Weather Warden books. What fun!
Interesting fact of the day: I have lost 28 pounds since January, most (if not all) of it since the last week in March.
