Could be written: give him the Internet and he'll tell you the truth (or whatever mean thing he wants because he is "safe" behind its shield...

That's absolutely true. The Internet is the ultimate mask. But, as you say, it isn't the truth necessarily—or a skewed truth. It's far more chthonic. There's something quite fascinating about that if you're not a target: how the Internet has literalized the subconscious. If you're a target, they ain't nothing fascinating about it atall.
