This is without any "treatment" besides sweeping and going over with a wet mop. You can see the water damage on the left and the track patterns.

This shows the new tiled floor in the bathroom. The dry rot is just that half inch strip between tile and hardwood floor. There are a number of nail hole issues to be dealt with.

And here's another hall shot showing the hideousness that is the brown carpet. It's not usually that dirty, but it is always that hideous.

I will post the after pictures sometime...after. The walls are in the process of getting painted this week so my hall and bathroom, anyway, will be looking mighty fine.

they just don't! the house I had when I was married (my ex still lives there) was built in 1952....I loved it! I miss it too.

yeah...our house had these huge windows with built-in shelves...and all the cupboard space and closets were wonderful!

I think that is going to come up absolutely gorgeous. A light sanding down and refinish will nuke any problem. And yes, what a truly horrid brown rug.

Okay, that carpet is pretty hideous. ooph. You've made the right choice.

I love the bathroom floor... I may have to steal that. Well, not it exactly, but buy some like it.
