Well that's just it...as we do our own work we see the problems and the faults and get wrapped up in that, often forgetting the big picture of just how cool it is to have created something.
If you found out your grandmother had written a book, even if she didn't get it published, and there was a copy around, wouldn't you want to read it? Wouldn't you think that that was cool that she did that?
Same goes for crafts. Even those of us who aren't into doilies might value one if our grandmother made it in her youth.
