Date: 2007-09-11 10:47 pm (UTC)One of my pet peeves happens to be people who believe what they're told - or follow the current thinking - without ever questioning it. My sister-in-law blandly told me that she doesn't like to think about difficult topics like religion or politics. She admitted without a trace of regret that it's much easier not to question authority, not to think about things too deeply. And she's one of those people with an opinion she'll loudly try to impose on anyone within earshot - even though she's never bothered to think about it.
I can respect that she's entitled to her comfortable ignorance, but I could never be that docile. :)

In the same breath, she also believes crop circles are made by little green men from Mars. I never did get to the bottom of whether it was their spaceships making them or the Martians were dancing a jig in a circle.
