Random quote of the day:
“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”
—Anaïs Nin, D. H. Lawrence: An Unprofessional Study

I've never felt complete and wanted to stop becoming.

I think of it as a series of plateaus. You become, then you rest for awhile, then you become some more, then you rest for awhile... :-) I've had to reinvent myself several times as the old plateau crumbles beneath me. Each time is painful and makes me feel unmoored until I reach the next safe plateau. Then I can settle in for a time and do the work I need to do.

That's a lovely way to put it.
