Yea, Lord, I am a sinner
Feb. 7th, 2007 02:53 pm Writing schmooze of the day: I finished off chapter 12 yesterday and sent it off to the local beta readers, but today when I was working on chapter 13 I realized I'd gotten way ahead of myself. I did about 750 new words today which will probably wind up in the trash can. I may be able to use some of it, but I basically had to circle back and rewrite the end of chapter 12.
Such are the wages of sin--or the organic method of writing.
Actually, I've done pretty good with this novel. I haven't had to circle back for major rewrites much. I added in some character sketches in chapters 3 and 5, and then this. Pretty good progress, all told.
I also posted chapter 10 on OWW today.
LJ poop of the day? I tried to do a backdated post last night in order to post a fuller version of my working synopsis, but LJ wouldn't let me. I guess that's no longer an option? I check out the FAQs and couldn't find anything. I had to wind up sticking the synopsis in with my backdated post with the map of Chargedwithfollyland.
ETA: The backdating function is working fine today. It must have been a temporary glitch.
Random quote of the day:
"[My rule] for keeping my temper in order, is never to leave it too long with another person."
—Horace Walpole
