Perhaps Camus has hit upon why Buddhism did NOT appeal to me. Oh, yes, that and too many Westerners locked onto the ideal of "eliminating personality/ego" before they HAD an adequate personality!

That. Also, I tend to shy away from any belief system that tells me I have to evolve beyond my body. We were given bodies for a reason: to learn from them. Both the good and the bad, the demands and limitations of these bodies are the crucible that helps refine the soul.

Learning tp deal with limitations is the crucible of ANYthing! So yeah, keep that "ignore the body, be spiritual only" stuff UNTIL, if such time exists, that is ALL there is.
