Apologies*

I've been reformatting some old posts and they may be coming through as new posts, but I've also generated new posts in the last few days and they've also been coming through as new posts. So...sorry if anyone is getting inundated with notifications.

I discovered recently that my Wordpress blog hosted on DreamHost which has been mirrored here at Dreamwidth (no relation) for years is not actually a Wordpress blog. When the website was set up, it was set up with the Wordpress software, but I never actually had a Wordpress account. And I just didn't realize this. Therefore, anything that was mirrored here will go away if I ever stop paying the folks at DreamHost. I have no plans to do that, but you know, things happen.

Fortunately, DreamHost informs me that all those blog posts can be transferred from their server to Wordpress but I will probably have to pay for the Wordpress account rather than having a free account. Which circles back to the same problem viz-a-viz paying/not paying.

The other fortunately is that for the bulk of the nine years I was mirroring, it was to Livejournal first and thence onward to Dreamwidth. After some testing, it appears that those posts may be safe. But once I quit LJ and started directly mirroring to Dreamwidth, the posts became insecure. That represents roughly a year and a half of posting. I've backed them all up with Blog Booker, but UNfortunately, Blog Booker backups comments but does not identify who left the comment. And the comments are as important to me as the actual blogs.

So. In an act of what I freely admit is OCD Extreme, I've started reposting any significant posts and any posts that have comments—and here comes the really OCD part—recreating the comments. I'm posting them with the original dates, but some of them appear to be leaking through as new posts.

So I am very sorry if that's happening.

Welcome to the wonderful world of OCD PJ.

*Duh. I just realized if I check the "Don't show on Reading Page" box no one will be bothered.
