My mom's reading a book today that had a line in it that she liked so much she had to call me to tell me. It goes something about how some people are like slinkies. They aren't good for much, but they sure make me laugh when I push them down the stairs.

Then I watched part of a quilting show that had a little motto afterward about never being afraid to try anything new. Amateurs built the ark; professionals built the Titanic.

I laughed and called mom to tell her my quote of the day.
