Peaches, week two

This week the peach tree decided to leaf out and to shed a pink snow of blossoms all around the yard. I returned to it at dusk Saturday, and as the sun declined the sky, the rain clouds grew thicker.

Oh, I am dying with jealousy! It looks like the blossoms are setting into fruit mode.

Sigh. I do have a French Pussy Willow that is almost out.

Yep, we've got some baby peaches going there--if the cold doesn't get them. Of course, we're not anywhere near freezing here. It did get down into the 50s (F) last night. Brrr! :-)

We've still got shivering, naked twigs around here, not even a leaf has peeked out yet.I'm so ready for leafing and flowering season to begin.

Here near the beach in SoCal things always remain fairly moderate--not as cold or hot as inland. But the peach tree blossoming is always special.
