Work-in-progress meme
Mar. 28th, 2009 04:56 pmTurn to page 123 in your work-in-progress. (If you haven't gotten to page 123 yet, then turn to page 23. If you haven't gotten there yet, then get busy and write page 23.) Count down four sentences and then instead of just the fifth sentence, give us the whole paragraph.
I went to p. 123 of Venus in Transit and it was one line of rather boring dialogue, so I went to p. 23 and that was a paragraph I'd already posted to the workshop. So I went to p. 223. Not that it's all that much more interesting...
Sam turned into the drive of the St. Cloud Mansion fifteen minutes early, just so Marian would know he was sincere, parking in the gravel near the front door. As he got out of the car, he didn't bother trying to "feel" for ghosts because he knew it wouldn't do him any good now that he was back in Dos Lunas. He wouldn't be averse to seeing one of the St. Cloud's famous spooks, and wondered why his last visit had been so uneventful. Maybe his hangover had been a better shield than he'd supposed.
