I live to dump
Nov. 15th, 2006 02:11 pmChapter five is a struggle--not coming together as easily as the first four, just eking out the words, and feels like meaningless interactions and one massive infodump after another at this point. Ugly. Ugly, ugly, ugly. I think the ending of the chapter, if I ever get there, will be kind of cool, but getting there will be painful.
Which tells me that I need to rethink it. That much struggle and dumpage is usually a sign that something is radically off, but I'll be switched if I know what. I need perspective on this. Ideally, I wanted to finish this chapter before posting chapter 4 to the workshop, but at this rate it could be Christmas before that happens.
Must rethink. I loves this writing stuff, but sometimes it sucks. When it isn't enchanting the hell out of one.
Random quote of the day:
"There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates' loot on Treasure Island . . . and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life."

What's a Gatsby cap?
One of those old-fashioned caps like newsboys used to wear, and old timey golfer, and...Gatsby. Also, English and American workmen of the first half of the 20th c.
