I live to serve
Aug. 8th, 2006 12:04 pmBoo-ya! Another 4000 words cut yesterday, for a total of 5000. We'll see if I can keep this pace up.
Interesting sight of the day: I noticed that yet another of the skanky, formerly-funky, old apartment buildings on Pacific Avenue in Venice has gone through a big face lift. On the outside anyway: fresh stucco, paint, clean stoop instead of studied dilapidation, little blue awnings over each window facing Pacific all the way up the building (about 3 stories). And they placed one of those placards out front, listing the amenities and vacancy/no vacancy. The name of the apartment building was written at the top of this placard and made me realize the owners hadn't completely given up de funk: "Le Trappe de Pigeon."
Quotes of the day:
"It takes a noble man to plant a seed for a tree that will some day give shade to people he may never meet."
—David Trueblood
And I just couldn't help myself on this one:

"It's a cook book!
