The Monday Poll - Ear Worms
Aug. 14th, 2006 10:22 amWell, here it is: the eagerly awaited and much anticipated poll for the most insidious ear worm of all time. I should note that just because something is an ear worm doesn't mean it is not a beloved piece of...ear wormage. Things can lodge themselves in the synapses out of a sense of devotion as well as out of insidious, catchy repetitiveness. Or so I've been told.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the write-in.

Date: 2006-08-14 05:44 pm (UTC)Chorus:
There's that bloody tune again, that tune again, that tune again,
It gets in your head and it won't get out (twice)
1. Mind your backs now, here come the dancers,
Waving their hankies and prancing about:
Don't try to stop them, they'll do another one,
They've got in the middle and they won't get out.
Chorus
2. Three box players stuck in a corner,
Beer going stale and their fags gone out;
Don't try to hush them, nothing will shush them -
They've got in a tune and they won't get out.
Chorus
3. All folk tunes are really the same tune -
It gets in your head and it won't get out -
All musicians, all Morris dancers:
They get in the pub and they won't get out!
