A Princess in heaven

Princess Underfoot slipped quietly away today and is now kicking kitty spiritual butt and taking names on the Other Side.

She was never quite the same after that midnight run to the kitty emergency room and although we cleared up the bladder infection, that apparently was not the underlying problem. We were willing to fight as long as Undie was--and she had an indomitable will even in this. She fought hard, but the last few days--the last week--she's been letting us know she was tired of it all and ready to go. It was quite evident this morning. And she turned sixteen this month. We just weren't willing to put her through this stuff if she didn't want to try anymore.

They always let you know in the end, but it's never easy. In fact, it's very, very hard.

So sorry to hear about Undie. You are absolutely right, they do know. She will be meeting up with my Humphrey, who passed away last year at 18. He had enough and went out into the bush one summer day. He never came home, nor did we find any trace of him.
