The other day I had such fun (odd sense of humor and all that) reminiscing in the comments section over at [livejournal.com profile] marshallpayne1's Super-Sekrit Clubhouse that I decided to dust off this old meme and give 'er another try. Marshall is not to blame for the use to which I have put our exchange—but let's blame him, anyway. More fun that way.

Your instructions (using the original type passed on from wherever I got this) (okay, so maybe the last three lines are all on me):

If you are reading this right now, please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your LJ and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

(Got it? F-A-K-E.)

(You sure you've got it? N-O-T-T-R-U-E.)

(Srsly. I can TALK IN CAPS ALL NIGHT LONG IF YOU'RE UNSURE.)

Pam, I remember the time you and I went scuba diving off the Santa Monica Pier and forgot to fill our tanks. Or they were filled with laughing gas. Can't remember exactly, my memory's foggy, but it was a fun day. ;-)

Btw, you talk lovely in CAPS!!

Cool. Back in '78 I lived about three blocks from there on Ocean Avenue.

I remember that time we crashed Leonardo di Caprio's bash wearing nothing but a sarong over our swimsuits. Nobody seemed to mind. ;)

Do you remember the time we missed our flight between La Paz and San Salvador and all the buses were full? We had to hitchhike the whole way. I'll never forget the look on your face when that goat peed on your leg. It didn't take much to cut my laughter short, though, oh no. Just a little chicken poop in my hair, and my expression probably matched yours pretty closely.

I'll never forget that time you clubbed the badger to death at mini-golf. Sure, the kids were horrified at the time, but once it was found to be rabid, well. You were quite the hero.

Dunno why they're so corrosive. They work rather well when one installs linux.

I remember the time you and I decided to walk all the way across the dewy morning lawn in our socks. By the time we got to the street, our feet were soaking. Then we took off the socks, and wow, the grass was so COLD. But it felt good.

I know we aren't supposed to talk about THAT night in TJ. The Federales only let us go because we promised to keep it all a secret. And I know the restraining order is still in force...but do you ever hear from Paulo?

I know, I know...one night stand and nothing but trouble, but I can't bring myself to forget him. Not completely...

Oh man...Ernesto. That's a name I never wanted to hear again. The entire "incident" was his fault.

I've always wondered how he managed to skate out of there two steps ahead of everything turning ugly. One might almost think Ernesto knew ahead of time.

Remember that time when our ship was anchored somewhere in the middle of the Gulf while the minesweepers were clearing the area? Could have been the dullest three weeks of our life, but...

We had a lot of fun bolting the NCOs' formal uniforms--through the buttonholes--to the bulkheads of the ship. Shame they caught me and not you.

You still owe me a beer for that one.
