Since I'm nothing if not OC (and because I've got a ton of books), I'm doing this book meme twice from the two different people I got it from. First is from [livejournal.com profile] riemannia:

Meme the First

Copy this list. Strike through any authors you don't own. Fill in the gaps.

J.R.R. Tolkien
E.A. Poe
Shakespeare
Kurt Vonnegut
Leon Uris
Tim Powers
David Brin
Diana Wynne Jones
Lois McMaster Bujold
Margaret Atwood

-----
Neil Gaiman
Umberto Eco
Charlaine Harris

And I must say, I've got a couple of Atwoods in my TBR pile, but I'm not overly impressed with her.

The second meme is from [livejournal.com profile] kmkibble75:

Meme the Second

Instructions: Take this list of authors, remove those whose efforts do not grace your shelves, and bring the list up to ten by adding some more that do. New paragraph indicates newly-added authors.

William Shakespeare
Orson Scott Card
J.K. Rowlings
Terry Brooks
Davis Eddings
Lois McMaster Bujold
William Goldman
Christopher Moore
Ray Bradbury
Lloyd Alexander

-----

J. D. Robb
Connie Willis
A. S. Byatt
C. J. Cherryh
Anne Perry
R. A. MacAvoy

I have owned some of those strike throughs in the past, just not currently.

That is all.

We are most ecrtainly going to have to get William Goldman on your list, even if it's only because he wrote The Princess Bride. (Or, should I say, translated and abridged S. Morganstern's version).

Actually, I think we might let it. The movie ends on a happier note, and is actually a little more amusing. But it's always interesting to see the source material, you know?

And being as he also wrote the screenplay for Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, I think he's managed to master both ends of the writing spectrum. :-)

Can i ask which movie it was?

And I do have to say, $50,000 would go a loooong way to making me feel better about it all. :-)
