Things I wonder

How do you tell the difference between a deep, instinctual, intuitive knowing and a deep, instinctual, obstructionist fear? That's what I want to know.
Because one thing I do know: the difference is crucial, and acting on them is even crucialer.

I live in Canada, if I was faced with a grizzly every bloody instinct in the book would say run but they tell us, you have to read the circumstances even when you are in panic mode. Do you run, play starfish, talk, or be aggressive? My instinct there would be to play dead (starfish), to send vibes off that, I am not tasty etc. I'd be shitting my pants mind you and that's honest.
How can you tell when you should follow instincts and when not? I don't think you can until you are faced with a certain circumstance and *if* you have prior knowledge. Knowledge IMHO is the key.

Date: 2009-12-16 05:57 pm (UTC)This probably will be useless to help you, but it can't hurt:
"The Bene Gesserit Littainy against Fear."
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
