This reminds me of dinner with Min the other night.  We were having crab cakes.

And how much did you get? Admittedly my expeerience is with another species, but what usually happens is that doggies are happier with something that has been in a human's mouth than vice versa.

Min's fairly polite. She may stand with her front feet next to the plate and her face as close as she thinks is allowable (REALLY close), but she waits until the human breaks her off a piece.

Much better manners than my dogs. Toby will drink from my coffee mug (or at least try to) while it's in my hand between sips.

Well...I must confess that Min likes to drink out of my water glass. Usually, she waits until I put it down on the table beside my chair, but she has been known to walk up my chest when it's at my mouth if she's really thirsty. :-D
