Very reassuring.

When I was studying archaeology, we looked at non-invasive techniques: resistivity, ground radar etc, and they included dowsing. The lecturer was a bit apologetic but said that since it does work at least for some people, the fact that it couldn't be explained shouldn't stop us from considering it as a possibility.

I think it's a very sensible attitude. I've seen it work—even if it doesn't do particularly well under test conditions.
