Was McCain always this big of an a***ole?

He played a good game there for awhile, even had me thinking he might be all right, but ever since he got down on his knees in front of the ultraright and George Bush I've been disenchanted, to say the least. And this just about finishes him off as far as I'm concerned:

This is a war of free speech, nothing more. The people had a little too much power for the likes of McCain and his ilk.
