On the mend
May. 6th, 2009 01:56 pmParts of me are feeling much better today, other parts much worse, but all-in-all I'm on the mend. And I have a lovely shiner! It should be interesting to see who avoids meeting my eye at work tomorrow (as I intend to go back). I remember that from my accident five years ago, how uncomfortable it made people to see a woman with black eyes, how some people scrupulously avoided asking what happened.
There's some kind of societal testament in that, isn't there? And not necessarily a good one.
Onward.

Date: 2009-05-07 12:46 am (UTC)As for people, I contemplated attaching a big sticky notice to my back say, 'No, I haven't been fighting,' but then I thought that they wouldn't believe me anyway. Aside for the people that saw me fall, there wasn't one question from anyone else as to how I came to be like that. It is ... uncomfortable.

It's weird, isn't it? I can certainly understand about the sticky note.
